This PGCE with Lead Programme Partners is one route into a career as a fully qualified primary teacher.
It is designed for graduates who want to gain recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status and develop the practical experience, classroom confidence and professional skills needed to teach children aged 5 to 11. QTS is required to teach in a state-maintained or special school in England and Wales.
Graduates may progress into teaching posts, continue their professional development through further postgraduate study, or use the PGCE as part of a longer-term career in education. A PGCE qualification can count as 60 of the 180 credits required for a master’s degree.
